Lakeview Regional Medical Center, Covington, Louisiana hosted its Annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on Monday, April 15, 2013, at Benedict’s Plantation, Mandeville, Louisiana, honoring their devoted volunteers.  Along with presenting the volunteers with pins for service hours served, each volunteer received a gift from LRMC.  Installation of the new auxiliary officers was conducted by Bret Kolman, CEO of Lakeview Regional Medical Center.  New board members for the LRMC Volunteer Auxiliary include:  June M. Selzer, President; Susan Carswell, Vice President; Karen Callaway, Treasurer; Beverly J. Smith, Secretary; Jerry Lambert, Past President and Henry E. Markel, Parliamentarian.

At the luncheon, donations were presented to various charities here within St. Tammany Parish voted on by the volunteer auxiliary.  Donations were presented to these charities from the volunteer auxiliary’s various fundraisers throughout the year and profits from “The Duck’s Nest” gift shop, which is operated by the volunteer auxiliary.  Charities receiving donations from the LRMC Volunteer Auxiliary were:  Alzheimer’s Association; American Heart Association; Council on Aging (COAST); Covington Food Bank; Homeless Youth of St. Tammany – HOYST; Hospice Foundation of the South; Pennies for Bread; Safe Harbor – Northshore; Seniors & Law Enforcement Together – SALT – St. Tammany Parish; St. Tammany Children’s Advocacy Center/Hope House; St. Tammany Humane Society, Suicide Prevention – STOPS; Support Our War Heroes; Susan G. Komen for the Cure – New Orleans Affiliate; and Volunteers of America Greater New Orleans – RSVP – St. Tammany Parish.
