Chef John Hickson, Director of Food & Nutritional Services at Lakeview Regional Medical Center, has just become a Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP). The American Hospital Association offers the CHESP certification to recognize mastery of a well-defined body of knowledge within the healthcare environmental services management discipline, including environmental sanitation, waste management and textile management.
“We are thrilled that Chef Hickson has obtained the CHESP certification,” states Bret Kolman, Chief Executive Officer at Lakeview Regional. “This type of commitment to ones profession is a testament to the high level of dedication our employees in all departments possess.” Hickson also currently serves as the Director of Environmental Services at Lakeview Regional.
Chef Hickson is also certified as a Culinary Administrator by the American Culinary Federation and is a Certified Food Service Management Professional through the National Restaurant Association. He is a Certified Dietary Manager and currently serves on the state board of the Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals. Chef Hickson is also a member of the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation Item Review Committee for the national ServSafe exam. In addition, he teaches food safety education and the National Restaurant Association’s ManageFirst program at various locations throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.
